Obituary - Hannah Slavin (nee Maskell)

18 Dec 2018
Obituary
It is with sadness that I announce the death of Hannah Slavin (nee Maskell) known to everyone who remembers her as ANNE.

Anne attended The Royal Alexandra School at Bishopswood Camp, near Reading and left in 1950.

Anne and her sister Joy joined the school in 1945, sponsored by LPTB after their Father was killed as a result of a bombing raid on the 8th May 1941, when the bus garage where he was working in South Croydon was blitzed and destroyed. He was badly injured and later died in East Grinstead hospital.

Like many other school leavers in the 1950’s, Anne served in the forces. Anne joined the WRAC and during the six years was stationed in Episkopi, Cyprus.

Anne was widowed and lived in Bexhill on Sea and leaves four sons.

Her funeral was held at Hastings Crematorium on 21st September 2018.
